Ho appena notato che sta accadendo qualcosa di insolito proprio adesso vicino a Knokke-Heist, proprio sopra il famigerato deposito di munizioni di Paardenmarkt, l’enorme cimitero sottomarino per le armi chimiche della Prima e Seconda Guerra Mondiale.
C’è un’enorme nave dragante che va avanti e indietro proprio sul sito. Per chi non lo conosce, quest’area contiene tonnellate di vecchie munizioni, tra cui alcune sostanze chimiche dannose come il gas mostarda e il fosgene. Dovrebbe essere una zona vietata perché disturbare la discarica potrebbe essere pericoloso per l’ambiente e anche per la salute pubblica.

It’s probably dredging ship Sanderus. I’m sure they are keeping clear of the restricted area, dredging access to port of Zeebrugge.
For the pas 10 years it has been a dumping ground for sand dredged from the Zeebrugge approach Channel.
The munition is rusting and the phophene gas in solid form is floating up and washing up on the beach in Knokke.
So the easy solution is: put more sand on top.
