      >Russia issued an arrest warrant for Khan two months after the court in The Hague issued a warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Let’s just agree that some people can’t be held accountable in the face of international law because they hold to many random sets of balls in their hands that they can squeeze at any point.

The ICC can’t enforce whatever they deem as convicted of whatever war crimes … that’s the same as the oil ban on Russia. Officially, we can’t buy from them anymore, unofficially, the Shadow Fleet is booming … who will stop them? Better yet, who Can stop them or him (Putin)?

I’m almost sure if Putin would make a power move and travel to France or Holland (for ex), they wouldn’t have the guts to enforce that warrant.

ICC and a few more NGOs should just dissolve already.

They are wasting oxygen from this planet and don’t show any results

The ICC was never on solid footing, letting an activist like Karim Khan run amok only destroyed whatever semblance of credibility the ICC had left.

ICC is an important entity. It’s has been able to arrest people but it is reliant on states. Actually arresting Putin or Nethanyahu would be a better outcome then the two lolling themselves in a bunker

What to expect from an organisation that works under UN? UN is the second to blame for the massacare in Vukovar. Joke like always

The cracks in an international law based order are showing; when the politicians in countries that previously supported the ICJ back away because they can’t bring themselves to face the reality of the genocide happening in Gaza it wont be long before it breaks down. Looking at you France and Netherlands. Apparently not bringing Israeli war crimes to justice is a priority for a lot of the politicians of this world

US and Europe refusing to honor ICC warrant on Netanyahu is the best thing that has happened to Global South who are sick of Europe lecturing us on Russia. I mean we of course knew of West’s double standards but we now see them playing out at the same time side by side. You couldn’t even wait until the Russia – Ukraine war to end before showing your true colours on genocide – it’s a crime only when states you are opposed to commit them and not a crime when your allies do it.

We can reinforce that lesson into our national psyche now and apply it to Russia (and in India’s case – to Israel also since we consider both to be military partners)

As is their own doing by treading in the porcelain shop of diplomacy with the elegance of a drunk elephant.

In trying to get arrest warrants enforced against sitting heads of state/government, and therefore attempting to undo centuries of precedent in diplomatic immunity, the ICC has made it harder to make peace. Killing diplomacy does not make a better world.

There were zero good reasons to try to get the warrants enforced against sitting heads of state, they should have had the decency to do as they did before and wait until the person is no longer in office. By acting so the ICC forced many countries to choose directly against them.

In the end no one is willing to start wars for the ICC’s ego despite some performative posing by some.

It is similar with people wanting to undo the UN security council which would increase the risk of nuclear exchange considerably. It does not exist to create the world you want, it exists to avoid the horrible apocalypse no one wants. And yes, it is no a pleasant sight to behold how the diplomatic sausages are made.

Please disolve this outdated, meaningless and powerless institution that is ICC. Funded with public money on top of that
