    Grazie.

    Can I use DB BahnCard 25 for any Sparpreis or Super Sparpreis ICE train ticket?

      I don’t know what your friend is doing but as long as the trip is within Germany, you get 25% off. If it’s abroad, I’m not sure if you get no discount or only a discount on the German section.

    2. BC25 gives you a 25% discount on all types of ICE tickets in Germany (except I think veranstaltungsticket but that’s a whole another beast).

      Your friend must be doing it wrong somehow.

      You obviously have to select the BC25 in your travel search… (it doesn’t update automatically in your search profile for fares)

      BC25 (if you are 26 years and 364 or younger you can get the cheaper myBahncard 25 for everyone who is on the first day of validity not 27 y/o)

      A BC25 is for all Fernverkehrsticket for 25% (the 2nd Class only for 2nd Class the 1st Class variant which is more expensive does both)

      BC50 does give 50% but only on standard fare. BC50 only gives 25% on (Super)Sparpreis Fares

      I tried to purchase Berlin-München with my own Bahn50 card. (ICE703 ride w/ card and w/o card prices.)

      Super Sparpreis €55.99 -> €41.99

      Sparpreis €64.99 -> €48.74

      Flexpreis €185.20 -> €92.60

    5. You do indeed get a 25% discount on all (super) saver fares and flex fares. But it does not show up as a discount, and it is not automatically applied.

      When booking tickets on [bahn.de](http://bahn.de) or in the DB Navigator app, you need to specify what kind of discount card(s) you have (BahnCard 25/50/100 1st/2nd class, and/or rail discount cards from neighboring countries). When booking a single ticket for multiple travelers, you can/must specify this for each traveler separately. This is not verified at the time of booking. You must rather be able to show the discount card along with the ticket at the time of travel (and it must be valid on that day). Prices for eligible tickets are automatically adjusted, but you only see the adjusted price, not what the price would have been without a BahnCard.

      For tickets that are neither (super) saver “Sparpreis” nor flex “Flexpreis” or “Normalpreis” fares, the prices are not adjusted. This applies to fixed-price offers such as the *Ländertickets*, which aren’t eligible for BahnCard discounts at all, but also to *Verkehrsverbund* tickets. For the latter, *all* ticket types available on [bahn.de](http://bahn.de) or in the DB Navigator app are shown and you must choose an appropriate one. Some *Verkehrsverbünde* allow using “ermäßigt” (reduced-fare, usually for children and sometimes for other groups assumed to have no/low income) tickets if you have a BahnCard, some don’t. You have to check the respective terms of service.

      There is one situation where you can have a BahnCard 25 and still not get a discount on a saver fare: If you have (or, more precisely, have *specified* that you have) a BahnCard 25 2nd class, and you are booking a 1st class ticket, you won’t get any discount. And if a train is nearly sold out (or [expected](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yield_management) to become sold out even without cheap saver fares) in 2nd class, so no 2nd class saver fares are available anymore, you will be offered a 2nd class flex fare and a 1st class (super) saver fare, with the former receiving the BahnCard discount but the latter not (due to the mismatching BahnCard class).
