Hopefully she will sign in for the first line of defence.

If someone believes that Germany send army into active war zone and this army won’t quit the job second they hear it – you either idiot or lived under a rock for 80 years.

Germans would go only if war is over to some cozy DMZ houses on Dnipro river.

    3. Good. Not showing strength to Russia is inviting them to attack. It’s a about time European countries stand up to the aggression. Unless we stand up for European values we’ll continue to fall one by one. It’s too late to do anything when the war is in your home, and more would needlessly die.

Russians send “peacekeepers” all the time as a pretext to protect their gains. It’s about time they have a taste of their own medicine.

If you don’t want to make Ukraine a NATO member, the next best option is to dish out EU citizenship to Ukrainians. Again, Russian tactic as a pretext to protect their “citizens abroad.”

      >“German soldiers could be deployed **only** under the condition of a real ceasefire,” Baerbock said.

      For those who don’t read.

This means absolutely nothing, if anything this only makes a ceasefire less likely.

This is the only way to keep the peace—plus a huge DMZ that starts in current Russian territory.

This is good. Stability in Eastern Europe should be led by the major European powers, not by the United States.

As an aside, I’d like to return to the tradition of political leaders actually leading soldiers or at least being nearby.

Good statement. Albeit dampened by the need to get to that conditional ceasefire first. Should the Russians actually stick to an agreement long enough for forces to actually be deployed – sure.

Comparisons with KFOR seem obvious, but I doubt it would deter future attacks, were Ukraine itself not a NATO member by that point.

Not her call, would be required to be ratified in parliament which is unlikely to give a mandate especially with the lame duck chancellor right now. You will need to examine her actual words which are probably all just hypothetical statements.

I will trust US, Polish, Romania, France, and UK soldiers. Not Germans.
