Same. Mine’s stuck in Youghal the last 3 days with no movement after going to Mayo first when it should have come to Cork.

Usually happens when the address is marked off or label damaged the machines canāt read and it just gets passed around the system for a bit until someone does a manual check

Business closed
Due to the business being closed we could not deliver this parcel.
The āBusinessā is my home and we were all sat down having tea. Impossible not to hear the buzzer!!

I have found they do this with deliveries that have a delivery date a few days out⦠like they could have delivered it early but why should they? Itās beyond irritating. Iāve also had a package make a trip all the way around Ireland (I live in the SW, my package was sent to Donegal). I stopped my postman and had him call about it, because he could see I was upset about it.

This happened to me once, it was one of two parcels sent from the same person at the same time (although I didn’t know that at the time), so they both had the same label. First box arrived, no bother. Second box got sent to wrong sorting office, basically the next nearest sorting office. They bounced it back and it went between that sorting office and the main one for a week like this. Then it was just sent back to the original sender. Problem on my side was that the original sender had moved out of the country since and by the time he was back in country to try to pick it up the Royal Mail had disposed of it.
I was left having paid ā¬11 import tax and fees by an post.

Same thing happened to me with my passport a few weeks ago .. also in the Dublin 12 mail center… And there was nothing wrong with the address printed on the envelope.

That happened me they said I owed a tax on it… by the time I found out they had sent it back to the seller
No harm giving them a buzz

Give them a ring or even go down to the sorting office and have a chat with someone. That said, it’s only been there for a day so maybe a bit more patience.

How did An Post turn from a fairly decent postal service to a dystopian shitshow where nothing works?
