Anyone else ever been to auctions of properties like these and listen to the absolute bullshit stories that the auctioneer tells about the properties. “The [insert mans title] built the [feature name] for his great love” or “Some say that [insert wild claim about who visited]” are 2 of the usual bullshit lines that never fail to make an appearance.
I’m actually surprise that _only_ 1235 properties have sold this year in excess of €1m.
Also the 5th house in this list in Dalkey sold for €7.5 million was up as a rental back in 2012 for €10,000 per month. At the time my friends and I had a drinking game that involved looking up the cheapest properties on Daft or the most expensive rentals and hypothesising how you could pool a group of students cash together to get them. At the time we surmised that 20 students could probably rent the Dalkey house together at €500 a pop. Funny how nowadays, while a €10k/month rental is still nuts – you see random houses in estates renting for nearly half that in new developments.
