Quindi mi sono trasferito a Berlino dal mio paese d’origine nel luglio 2023 e ho fatto Anmeldung lì in quel periodo vivevo in una casa (non in un appartamento) quindi il proprietario mi ha detto “Sto pagando la bolletta della radio, non devi pagarla “. Successivamente, ho ricevuto il primo messaggio da ARD per registrarmi, ma non mi sono registrato perché non devo pagare. Nell’ottobre del 2023 mi sono trasferito da lì e ho fatto Anmeldung all’ostello di Berlino per i successivi 3 mesi e non sapevo se avrei dovuto pagare o meno la bolletta della radio. Dopo 3 mesi mi sono trasferito in un appartamento in subaffitto e il proprietario pagava il conto della radio, ma non ho cancellato la mia Anmeldung da quell’ostello. E ora mi sono trasferito in una nuova casa nel marzo 2024. Lo stesso, il proprietario mi ha detto che sto pagando la bolletta della radio per la nostra casa, quindi non devi pagare. E ora ho ricevuto una lettera da ARD con pochi errori di comprensione. Cosa dovrei fare adesso e come posso convincerli che sono successe cose del genere?? Devo pagare tutta quella fattura?

You need to give them the Beitragsnummern of your old landlords so they can link your account to those numbers.
Also: Why do people always ignore letters because they think “I shouldn’t be paying this” … I mean, the other side clearly is thinking otherwise.

Rule number 1 for living in Germany: never ignore letters. The problems won’t go away, but grow much bigger, nastier and more difficult (and expensive) to deal with.
You need to prove that your landlords (or the person registered to the same address) did in fact, pay the tax while you were living therebetween 07-12.2023 and 01-03.2024
When you get a letter asking you to register, next time take the time to go online on the website indicated on the letter, where you can declare that someone else is paying the fee at your current address to avoid this issue in the future. Hope this helps!
