Georgescu’s connection with the money paid to TikTok has not been proven by any competent authority. The decision was made on speculation in the context that the CCR had validated it before and yesterday said that only those qualified in the second round can appeal.
On this principle, I can boost candidate X on platform Y and then ask for his elimination.
All the jurists I follow say that what the CCR did is extremely dangerous. Democracy would’ve been in danger if Georgescu had been elected, so they shot her in the head preventively.
Also, no ties to Russia have been brought up.

I don’t see how this can possibly have a positive outcome
1 of 3 things will now happen:
– Romanians will vote differently & results forever marred in controversy
– The right wing candidate gets a boost from this ruling and wins again
– Elections postponed indefinitely
Oh how we love democracy, when our candidate is winning. Everything else is rigged elections and corruption.
The EU made promises Romania and Bulgaria will join Shengen starting jan 1 2025 is that still gonna happen?
