What genuinely gives me hope is that even if fascists eventually win, they will do what we, Romanians, always do. They’ll end up arguing with each other, some will be corrupted, a couple will switch sides, any laws they may enact will be filled with loopholes, a significant portion won’t know why they are there and eventually, Russia will want to get rid of Romania and send it back to NATO because they cant cope with it anymore.
“Am facut o romaneasca la ruseasa”.
I dont even know how to translate this one, but it means something among the lines “we beat the russian way the romanian way”.
If Romania ever switches to Russia, we will send them CG’s supporters as immigrants, and we will corrupt your way of life in ways you never thought possible. Are you, those in Russia, absolutely sure you want to be friends with us? The mongol hoardes will pale in comparison.
I expect a full blown investigation after all that’s happened. It’s the authorities’ occasion to show what they’re capable of especially in these kind of situations when Russia is meddling in the internal affairs of a country. Will that deter Russia from doing it again the future? No. Will that possibly deter others who might get on Russia’s side in the future? Maybe. And that’s already a good thing.
At least Romania is doing something about it. Most countries just roll over or are already infiltrated too deep.
Im actually impressed
USA, take notice. That’s how you protect your democracy.
Ruzzian assets, prepare for some jail time.
They hit the central figure for his illegal campaign financing, a pretty high profile neo-nazi leader and multiple people who attended the neo-legionary gathering at the beginning of the month.
The rats are also jumping ship, some influencers who received money to promote CG fled the country.
Romania is healing
its crazy to see the EU go totalitarian dictatorship in a instant just because their preferred side isnt winning.
like none of you see how nuts this is? You are trying to overthrow elections in countries because you are sore losers.
That feel when you kill democracy under the guise of spreading democracy…..wtf is this non sense.
In an agro-industrial nation like Romania, placing advanced technology and artificial intelligence in the hands of the populace without adequate education or ethical grounding risks eroding common sense and critical thinking. The consequences are stark and deeply personal—I have lost both family and friends to the polarization that began with debates over the COVID-19 vaccine and has now culminated in the tumult of this election.
What troubles me most is the growing inability of many to distinguish between truth and deception. A wave of misinformation has swept through my circle of friends, leaving many unable—or unwilling—to discern reality from the manufactured narratives that dominate social and digital platforms. But this problem runs deeper than external manipulation; it is fueled by the biases and latent animosities we carry within ourselves.
When our personal biases and unexamined grievances take hold, they distort our perception of the world, creating a kind of intellectual tunnel vision. This narrowing of perspective locks us into echo chambers, where we only hear what reinforces our existing beliefs and fears, shutting out alternative viewpoints. In this state, hate—often born from misunderstanding—becomes self-reinforcing, further polarizing communities and eroding the very foundations of dialogue and empathy.
We would do well to heed the lesson of Thomas the Doubtful. His skepticism was not a sign of weakness but of wisdom—a reminder that seeking evidence and questioning what is presented to us are crucial acts of intellectual integrity. Doubt, when paired with a commitment to truth, can be an antidote to the distortions created by bias and hate.
Romania stands at a crossroads. To move forward, its people must rise above manipulation and overcome the limits imposed by their own fears and prejudices. Only through nurturing discernment, fostering open dialogue, and embracing humility can the nation reclaim its path toward informed and reasoned decision-making. Good luck, Romania—you will need it.
I’m shocked the Russians could pull off election fraud so brazenly in an EU state not particularly friendly to the Russians
