      Comments under the original post are just insane and show how some people have literally zero empathy towards others

      So now that Syria is safe, can they go back please?

      This makes me happy, reminds me of being in Spain after they won the euros.

      We can only hope that what comes now is better than what it’s replacing. Maybe not full democracy (one can dream) but peace, stability and relative prosperity, hopefully followed by healing is what Syria deserves.

      I find it baffling there is such a lack of understanding or empathy for the Syrians celebrating the removal of Assad, the dictator that upended their lives and forced them to flee their homeland. The man that killed countless of their countrymen and imprisoned others with no sight on release.

      This is a monumental day in Syrian history. And these people finally have some perspective on returning to a safe country. Of course, the future is uncertain. HTS, the leading rebel group has a history of allegiance to Al Qaeda but it’s present stance is a lot more complex than that. We will see if Syria is able to transition into something akin to a moderate Islamic republic. For the sake of the Syrian people I hope they will.

      Crazy to see the first comments here literally just bot-spawned hate speech. Let them be happy. Who knows how many relatives, parents, children, siblings, some of them had sitting in Assad’s torture farms.

      Hopefully in 2026: Escaped Hungarians all around the world after the fall of the Orbán-regime be like;

      After the brutal Assad dictatorship they celebrate a new extreme Islamist regime. Quality substitution.

      “Freedom” – laughs in religious fundamentalism –

    9. So glad this dictatoral regime is over. Now they can finally have some fundamentalist islamists to govern the country and make it a decent place. /s

      EDIT: I mean not they exactly because they are too comfortable in Germany.

      I’m confused. Why is Al-Qaeda called a ‘terrorist group’ when it attacks in the West and a ‘freedom fighter’ when it does so in the East?

    11. Munich? If it weren’t for architecture I would never have said it. What a wonderful future awaits us…..

      Congratulations to them. They will finally be able to return back.

      If this scene was happening in Poland (especially North Praga district in Warsaw) these guys would be f*cked up.

      Isn’t the guy under control literal terrorists with 10mil dollars on his head?

      Freedom? No this is just under new management. Management that is basically just a rebrand of a collection of ISIS and Al-Qaeda people, likely backed by the west too.

      This is a sad fucking circus.

      Celebrating ISIS and Al qaeda is hilarious! I thought they were the evil Muslims just a month ago snf now they are heros of the west.
