Bit unfair stopping his dole just because he had €350000 in cash in the attic

A man is in prison. This man is irrelevant to the story.
This man’s *father’s* social welfare was stopped, and his father is suing the State to have it turned back again.
The *reason* his father’s social welfare was stopped is because when they searched his house, they found suitcases with €350,000 in cash which he could not explain. And he had confirmed on his application for social security that he had no money, and therefore needed State support.

>The money was likely connected with twrrprist financing
The Gardai [explicitly ruled out any links to terrorism](https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/spotlight/arid-41254303.html) – “They are satisfied it is “not criminally linked” and are determining if a family could accumulate that amount of money solely on social welfare payments alone, as neither parent is employed. They are investigating the theory that the Palani family could have brought the sum into the country with them when they first came here. They have ruled out any terrorist financing.”
>This is not an immaterial fact
This is not a fact at all. It is a falsehood.
>people like you always try to control what is spoken about.
I’m not controlling what is spoken about – you’re entirely free to say whatever you want. I’m just free to point out that you’re either willfully ignorant or deliberately lying.

Of course he is and he’ll probably win aswell. Something seriously wrong in this country.

That 350000 is equal to about 35 years of social welfare payments.

He must either be an idiot without bounds, or have a case tbh* not the one full of unmarked bills
In the end a solicitor has agreed to represent him

Absolute fucking scumbag. The article didn’t mention what was done with the 350k my recollection is that the money was also taken by CAB ? In which case he probably has no money to live off. If he kepts the 350k then he can go fuck himself.

These absolute leeches have made life very difficult for the genuine cases. Shame on them.

A decent judge would offer him a one way ticket home. He has plenty of money to start fresh, away from gays.

It would be great if he could put this much effort into securing employment

He had 350k while scabbing a social house, the dole and all the other things like heating allowance, medical card, travel pass.
The state should be suing him to pay back everything he received since he commited fraud during his application. He was a guest of this country and he took advantage.

This does raise questions on the states ability to check the funds and assets of those living abroad.
