The corporations building datacentres have more than enough resources to also build renewable energy infrastructure as well. If they would just cover/surround them with solar panels and wind turbines it wouldn’t be as bad as it is, but they’re too greedy and our government too apathetic

Would the data stored not be used largely outside of Ireland? If so surely there should be an allowance for this as the polluter pays concept means that whoever uses the data should pay.
Maybe a data tax would make sense.
