“A convicted rapist who fathered a son with his estranged daughter”

He didn’t father a child WITH his daughter. Jesus, journalists really need to stop diluting the language around the actions of abusers. And the courts need to toughen up on them!

      >prison environment is not conducive to optimum convalescence

Poor chap with his sore knee…

Of course I’m the monster for suggesting we hang bastards like this…

No matter how much of a monster someone is, they’re entitled to make use of the judicial system. There’s nothing new here.

In saying that, any sane society would deem his sentence too lenient. He should have been given a life sentence. He will always be a danger to others.

“Ms Justice Mary Rose Gearty told Ms Leader that she would grant permission for the man to pursue his legal actions and adjourned the matter to January.”

Sure, January is a busy month, could end up being adjourned again until June.

      >Judge Quinn heard the man was jailed by the Central Criminal Court for six years in 1996 for rape and for three-and-a-half years by Dundalk Circuit Court in 2003 for sexual assault.

Stop letting these pricks out. They don’t fucking change.

He is now seeking an order as to the reasons why his application for temporary release was refused.

They had oubliettes in old castles for lads like this

I don’t get the point of these sorts of articles. Regardless of the person’s crimes, there is due process in terms of how one is convicted and then how one’s sentence is carried out. If he’s entitled to temporary release (whether we think he ought to be or not is another matter) then so be it, the process allows for this to be denied and therefore, I assume, provides for an appeal of that decision, which appears to be where we are.

It is all very well to say he ought to be locked up indefinitely for such absolutely diabolical crime, and a history of equally discussing ones prior, but we either have a justice system which is applied equally to all or we don’t and one which we have faith in or not. I guess, if anything, articles such as this highlight where flaws might be, but I don’t think in this case it is a flaw and certainly his appeal should be denied.

“the man was jailed by the Central Criminal Court for six years in 1996 for rape and for three-and-a-half years by Dundalk Circuit Court in 2003 for sexual assault.” …. then 2015 reported by his wife for fathering daughters child

A repeat offender, he should never get out, Judge was right… fact he even asked to get out amazes me

Name, shame and set on fire.
