      This is nonsense. The number of people considering a candidates stock portfolio when voting for them is minimal, and in this case, even if they had, Hayes’s record would have been correct by the time of the general election.

      I can only assume that Matt and sf as a whole are 110% confident that none of their TDs have any skeletons hidden.

      He really wasn’t. He never hid where he worked. It was (and still is) on his LinkedIn. People who have ah issue just never bothered to look.

      Very bold of Carthy to assume Hayes still wouldn’t have beaten SF’s (formerly Fianna Fáil) Chris Andrews (formerly anonymous online alias).

      The grandstanding from Sinn Féin is frankly ridiculous. Your man made a mistake but I’d wager it’s nowhere near some of the ‘mistakes’ made in Matt’s party.

      I’m not a fan of by elections in a PR system in any case and his offence probably isn’t something that disqualifies him from holding a Dail seat. Whether SDs keep him or not is a matter for them but he was elected for 5 years by his constituency.

      The preference I gave to Hayes probably ended up voting him in, so no, he wasn’t elected under false pretenses.

      Get out of town. He’s not going to resign because he’s done nothing illegal . He had shares in Palantir – nothing illegal there.

      If we’re talking about vested interests surely property ownership should be paramount. Some of these TDs are landlords of multiple properties, and yet it’s crickets when it comes to that LARGE vested interest…

      If he does resign it’d probably be a gain for Fine Gael which would put them equal to SF in seat numbers
