I’m highjacking this post to ask a related question: How are abbreviation created in German language? One would think that “Hauptbahnhof” => “Hbh”, so the first letters of each word in the composition, but it’s rather the first letters of the first 2 words and the last letter of the last work.
Or one could also argue that “Bahnhof” is one word and the abbreviation hast the first letter of the first word and the first and last letter of the second?
Is there a rule?

german from aachen here: this is meine hood, usually its aachen rothe erde thats the name of the train station so the e is for erde the name. idk why its written so weird there
