For some of you, it might seem ridiculous, but for the Russians, it’s a serious argument, and they often use it to justify the war. I got so tired of hearing this ‘cookie argument’ that I decided to make a separate video.
Ivan also meant that the cookies were literally poison. This ties into a popular Russian propaganda myth that Americans gave Ukrainians drugs to keep them energized and able to stay on Maidan for long periods.
According to Russians, on Maidan, protesters’ tea was spiked with drugs to allegedly make them angry and inspire them to fight.

Democracy is poison… to dictators only, not to the people.
I’m constantly amazed at how they think. It would be one thing if they could make a reasonable argument for their opinion but it’s not possible because they are so wrong.
Why do they insist that cookies bring democracy? Are they stupid?
Once I started paying attention, I realized russians could or would never rise up like Ukrainians did. russian “no war” activists stood patiently in line, waiting for their turn to get arrested by OMOS.
Wait, Ukraine is thousands of kilometers from Europe? 😀
Russians are paranoid idiots that make lunatic American conspiracy theorists look like amateurs.

So Russia invaded Ukraine because cookies? Even if you swallow all the shit fed by Russia that Ukraine is actually a puppet of America and is entirely infested with Nazis… why are they attacking civilians? It’s not even as though it’s a few accidental deaths or collateral damage for example, they’re purposely targeting civilians. Why kidnap the children and force them to learn Russian? Why all the time war crimes committed against Ukrainian soldiers?
The fact that the evidence for a CIA coup in Maidan (which began in 2013) is hinged on a phone call made by Nuland and now cookies, just goes to show that the russians have no evidence whatsoever for their claims and are merely resorting to their usual disinformation tactics.
It wasnt even within the definition of a coup as that would require a military intervention, but rather the people of Ukraine protesting against a corrupt politician who was turning their country into a domain of Putins mafia kgb regime. Yaunukovich fled the country, under orders from putin and therby abidcated his position as presesident, which was ratified by the Rada. It was democracy in action.
The only coups that happend in Ukraine were the russia coups in Donbass and Crimea, facilitaed by russian armed intervention and then some quasi attempts at coups in other regions which were soundly rejected by the Ukrainian people.
Even if the US distributed poisoned democracy cookies during Maidan – let’s entertain this for a moment – the Russians had already poisoned a Western-leaning Ukrainian president many years before. So this “the evil West started everything” argument doesn’t hold its water.

I saw an American Youtuber make this argument this week “we caused the maidan riots, victoria newland was out there handing out cookies and sandwiches….”
I kinda reckon if Victoria Newland / CIA caused the revolution they would probably distance themselves.
And anyway how do you cause 100k people onto the streets for months ?

If this childish fairy tail was even close to being true, why is Russias only response brute violence and a vietnam style invasion of countries they claim to be “saveing”.
Show me to the hospitals Russia built for Syria,Georgia or occupied Ukraine. Show me the dams they built for the places they invaded or roads they volunteer to repair.You won’t find any real “help”. It’s all arms deals and monument building.
Russian help is jamming one of their beat to hell AKs in your hand and pushing you forward while they hide in a dugout.
