tenner bets the next headline is “enoch burke refuses to leave prison”

Also good to read “He [judge] ordered representatives from the Department of Finance and the Attorney General to be present in court on the next occasion to outline what mechanism can be used to allow Mr Burke’s salary to be used to pay the fines he owes.”

    2. Flimsy_Candidate7219 on

Reckon two Burkes in jail at any one time is considered too cruel on the other inmates.

    3. Furryhat92 on

How are they affording all these legal stuff? Where does their money come from?

    4. struggling_farmer on

Dont know why they bother, just leave him in mtjoy, gather the money owed for the fines and forget about him.

He wont be compliant with the courts letting him out and trying to reason with him.. he cannot be led to reason.

Leave him their until he realises he will have to comply to get out and asks the court to be released.

If he old and wastes more of his life in mountjoy by his own decisions before coming to that realisation, thats on him..

    5. Honestly, this annoys me a lot. Most of us are working very hard and paying income tax, VAT etc to pay for this farce and his salary.

This is just taking the utter piss out of the court system and the case just keeps going around and around in circles.

I can see why the IMF was so critical of legal costs here.

The wasters that were at Wilson’s Hospital School yesterday are having another protest at the Joy today.

I wonder will they just gloat about what they perceive as their “win” or will they go ahead and spout the usual shite.

    7. What do you have to do in this country to be forcibly sectioned bar murder/hurt someone? This is guy is a fruit loop

    8. Such-Possibility1285 on

Lazy journalists putting this awful family on top of the headlines again, playing into their agenda.

    9. Competitive-Oil572 on

Absolute genius doing this while the schools are off

    10. TheSameButBetter on

The judge sounds more than a little bit frustrated.

This family must be costing the country a small fortune,

Has to be a way to tag him or house arrest system we could use

Anything they own should be up as gaurantee

    12. Seaflapflap42 on

Burke could get out at anytime by agreeing to stay away from the school, he has refused to do so and has previously repeatedly broken the court’s orders when the courts let him go. He’s shown no sign of changing. At this point all the judge is doing is failing to protect the school’s staff and students from harassment.

School reopens on the 6th of January. He’ll be at the gates.

    14. He gets out of prison for Christmas and paid too so it’s better than my job.

    15. 1stltwill on

Bets he’s outside the school gate the first day after the christmas hols?

Home in time for Santy. I wonder what’s on his list?

My farmer uncle told me lots of his neighbours (of all ages) support Enoch. They think all this they/them stuff is ridiculous, and the world has gone mad “with all this pronoun stuff,” and think he’s been jailed because of that.

They’re not nasty people, they’re not online abusing trans people. They just roll their eyes when they hear about it and see Enoch as having made a stand for what they see as commonsense.

There are still plenty of religious/conservative people in this country, who think boys are boy, girls are girls, and this whole non-binary/trans thing is nonsense.

It made me realise I live in an echo chamber, because I couldn’t believe anyone would be on his side, or any of the Burkes.

    18. They should release his home address and we can all go and stand on his lawn dressed as a plank

    19. Barryd09 on

He will be back at the school again at 9am on January 6th and 2025 will continue just as 2024 did. A pure debacle.

I’d say Mammy has the hot water on already for a big family bath when he gets home

    21. evening_swimmer on

From Enoch’s perspective, it’s probably fun to stay at Mountjoy – he can get a good meal, hang out with all the boys, do whatever he feels. Beats silhouette hour with the Mammy any day I’d say.

Maybe they should send him up to Arbour Hill the next time, it might change his perspective a little.

    22. TheOriginalMattMan on

So, I’m right in assuming that I can also stalk school, go to court, show continued contempt for that court, go to the prison, get released and just face more threats of fines and prison?

Can’t wait for the TV licence inspector to show up at my door now.

    23. macker64 on

As sure as night follows day, this individual will be back protesting outside the school come early January 2025.
