Quindi a quanto pare è stato inviato all’ufficio sbagliato e cercheranno comunque di trasmettermelo? E ora vengono smistati per essere rispediti nel paese d’origine.
Questo non mi è mai successo prima, nel peggiore dei casi mi lascerebbero semplicemente una lettera dicendomi di venire a ritirarlo vicino a dove vivo, ma invece decidono immediatamente di rispedirlo dall’altra parte del pianeta? Dategli un senso

I had a similar issue with a parcel from outside the EU. Parcel arrived in Dublin, it then got sent to Portlaoise, to LONDON for some reason, back to Portlaoise, to Dublin, to Iceland where I ordered it from, back to Dublin, and finally I begged An Post to just let me pick it up myself rather than them delivering it to avoid more crap.
The reason this happened? The customs forms were filled correctly, but some postal worker in Iceland made a typo. A costly typo that was, it took my parcel 2 months to arrive in total, instead of one week.
They could not deliver and the item is being returned to sender. This means they noticed an issue, not that delivery was attempted. This could be a damaged item, an address issue, a customs issue etc.
After that they began the return to sender process, each of the following scans are the process in it being shipped back out of the country to the sender.
The item will not be delivered to you and you will need to contact the sender for a refund or replacement item.
Same thing happened to me recently- the sender left out most of my address, so An Post returned it to sender, who resent it with the full address

I ordered something from Amazon UK 2 weeks ago. Estimated delivery date is Jan 16th, 2025.
A decade ago, I ordered something from Hong Kong and it arrived 18 hours later (it shipped from there).
I’d love to understand how both of these are even possible.
This regularly happens to me with my Nespresso capsules delivery. Compare to DPD who text you a one hour delivery window or Amazon where you can track the van live. An Post are shite.
Your address was totally incorrect on the delivery. It will end up back with the sender.
I have 3 AnPost packages that tell me they’re being sorted. For the last week or so. I’ve had them the last 5 days. I’m hoping I’ll get new ones now as well 😂
It’s down to Holyhead closure, I got a notification last week that my parcel was in Laois sorting centre. Had to check I had the right address on it because I’m nowhere near there. Got the package the next morning though so was grand.
I got a package the went for NL to GB then Back to NL then showed up a week later.
There is a problem at D12, some moron was stealing packages, might be related.

Have you contacted them? Most likely something is wrong with the address and it is being passed around in the hope that someone will know where it is supposed to go.
Similar happened to me with the parcel doing a tour of the country. I phoned An Post customer service, they asked what my address was and it turned out to be an error (I think the county was missing). Once the address was fixed, the parcel was delivered the next day.

Same happened mine, anpost collect the customs charges and if there is no taric code on the parcel they don’t even make contact anymore, just return to sender
I’ve a parcel due from Donegal to Wicklow, and it’s stuck in Dublin 12 since 13/12. A post web chat couldn’t be more unhelpful if they tried. They just keep telling me it was due to be delivered last Monday 🫠
Mine went from portlaoise to Charleville then Mallow, back to portlaoise then onto little island and finally my house 🙄🙄 Had a strange journey to say the least
I’ve had 2 deliveries get sent to the wrong location, Kildare and Mayo, and then back to the sorting office in Dublin. Different senders both within Europe. Still haven’t got one of them. Scanning machines must be fucked or a lot of newbie staff.
Happened to me plenty of times this year. Parcel almost always ended up in Portlaoise instead Limerick.
This happens when it leaves our jurisdiction.
Just visit the site of the destination country and enter the same tracking number.
