“The number of volunteers ready to start training in Poland as part of the Ukrainian Legion is many times smaller than Kyiv reported. According to Ukrainian information, there were supposed to be 500 volunteers, but in reality, this number probably does not exceed even 30 people – according to unofficial findings by RMF FM.

This situation calls into question the implementation of the training program, which was to take place at the training ground near Stalowa Wola with the participation of NATO inspectors. The lack of an adequate number of participants means that the training has not started, and its future seems uncertain. RMF FM sources suggest that continuing the preparations in their current state does not make sense due to the deficit of candidates.

Despite the complications, the Polish Ministry of National Defense has not issued any official comments on the situation. However, it confirms that the Polish-Ukrainian agreement is still in force and Poland remains ready to fulfill its obligations, including training volunteers and providing them with appropriate equipment.
