    1. lol @ the quote from Lukashenko

He was literally the supervisor of a pig farm during the USSR

    2. flipyflop9 on

It almost makes you think North Korea is democratic by comparison…

    3. that must be pure horror to be appointed to presidential campaign as a candidate in a dictatorship

This is USSR level stupidity. Other candidates: “I’m running because our comrade Lukashenko needs my help. Vote Lukashenko!” A charade that makes me throw up.

Last quote is priceless! What could be a better example of authoritarian state when one of the so called candidates says that function of a political party is to participate in elections. That’s it.

My favourite lukashenkos quote is   “it’s better to be a dictator than gay.”

i’ll make a prediction about who the next president of belarus will be – lukashenko

    8. These are some inspiring quotes we will all be saying to each other for years to come. Easily memorable, perfect for every occasion, oozing with profound wisdom.

They have only one candidate and it’s Lukashenko(Putin)

Lukashenko’s quote sounds like a Tumblr post LMAO.

    11. It would be funny if not the suffering this regime brings onto common Belarusians.

Looking forward to the debates! Their opinions on who best loves Lukashenko is very important to my vote!

    13. Voting Khizhnyak myself. His level of disillusionment with politics really speaks to me. Gaidukevich/Syrankov are my second choice, but they implied that Lukashenko is weak since he requires a shoulder of support/is only the right choice because of contingent reasons.

Kanapatskaya tries to ingratiate herself by coming after the Tsikhanovschinavistas, but ends up giving them press/attention.

Messiah complex; that’s the foremost disease of the mind afflicting dictators.

Very diverse bunch! 😉 A lot to choose from. It would be interesting if, for example the guy who says that a function of a political party is to participate in elections, actually wins. I would vote for him just out of spite (as if matters what a person actually votes – Lukashenko will get 110%)

    16. It looks like everyone will recognise Lukashenko as the president of Belarus after this.

It look like they force convicts to run for punishment, and if someone runs on their own they will be convicted and punished.

Well, using that logic, let’s just bring back the Romanovs and the Empire, since you’re all into the “born into” thing.

One woman too – at least they are trying to follow some diversity trends.

Of course the woman is made to be very mad at Tsikhanouskaya – the last democratically elected president of Belarus, her husband was sent to jail because Lukashenko is so afraid of a democratically popular woman president.

Presidents are not made, presidents are born sounds like divine right of kings

I will never understand Belarus? Do they think that mandate limit doesn’t exist? They always elect the same person…. Dude. Stop.
