The problem in germany is not that police gets too low wages its that they get heavily restricted in what they can do. In germany we protect the criminals not the victims and its a huge problem.

These numbers are kind of useless without some sort of indexation based on cost of living/average income per country.

EDIT: never mind, apparently I’m blind.

In Germany, police officers generally have to work 40 hours per week. In reality, however, there are a lot more. Quite a few keep overtime accounts with well over 1000 hours… Some never use it up.

Why did you show only data for men? Was it too difficult to add screenshots also for women?

High wages for police directly link to less corruption. Subjectively, the less money officers earn in less developed countries the higher the chance is they would be susceptible to bribes.

This article is complete bullshit. In Portugal Men and Women wage exactly the same based on their career longevity or career progression (and those are the only criteria). F*ing Euronews political agenda.

Curious about the men/women button. Do female police officers in other countries get a lower wage?

That would explain this huge motivation and perfectionism of Polish forces :-/

if we look at net salaries then half of those are on minimal pay.

2418 EUR per month seems kind of unnecessary. You’d think we’d just feed pigs corn.

Standard salary is used here for 36 hour work week while we use 40 hour. Therefore inaccurate. We have exactly the same salaries as firefighters. Border guards, gendarmerie and several other departments receive the same pay. The pay is insanely low and I know some people that quit since natural disasters and forest fires in recent years are interfering with side jobs which are far more profitable. Working as a public servant here is more like a hobby.
