      Dictators don’t make value-driven judgement calls, they just do whatever looks the best. Giving up a war you started over “saving poor Russians from the onslaught of Nazi demons from hell” for Syria isn’t a great look, even for him.

      He went all in on Ukraine he can’t pull out anymore

      Summary: Opinion piece by Russian journalist declares Putin “chose” to leave Syria so Russia can fully focus on its unlimited war against Ukraine…and concludes that it doesn’t matter anyway and Russia will come back real soon and take over more countries again.

      What the author doesn’t mention is that Russia was defeated in Syria and it lacks resources to execute Putin’s fantasy plans.

      It wasn’t a choice between Ukraine and Syria for Russia, they are/were fundamentally different situations.

      He lost Armenia, was kicked out of Syria , Moldova seems half way there, there’s only Georgia and Ukraine , and he Will lose those too.

      Of course, Russia has stolen 45% of Ukraine precious minerals and a lot more grain to sell to Africa and North Korea countries to have in exchange their man power and continue the invasion to steal more resources… Syria occupation and destruction was mainly done to block Saudi Arabia and Qatar from exporting their gas to EU and avoid to lose a great market share… they deliberately admitted that in their TV stream… 🤦‍♂️ now that EU have reduced Gas consumption from Russia by at least 45% their priorities have changed and they need precious minerals and to sell their gas to the East… The Russia need resources of other countries to blackmail them and control them, this is their main fascist behavior…
