How, just how can they be defended? Fucking appalling assault.
I thought the law here was changed that if you gave a reference for someone you could be cross-examined.
Being a jealous cunt seems to be a family trait with this lot.
Throw away the key 10 years each minimum.
Name and shame the individuals who provided testimonials, along with who their employer is.
It’s a bit of a cliche, but this is the most ‘GAA’ thing I have ever seen. Rape and assault all you want, but as long as you can puck a piece of leather around the field you are golden. Scum.
And nobody is surprised.
This entire business of character references should be banned by law. A person should be judged on their actions at the time of the offence, not on some good deed from the past.

It’s be pretty unfair on the brothers to give them a custodial sentence if it affected their availability for the quarters

utter gutter scum scobes. but they’re a great bunch of lads and good with a hurl in more ways than one. so they’ll get a slap on the wrist no doubt.
They lured him to a house and beat the fuck out of him with a hurley and a wrench.
And still people will take the time to write a glowing report about them. Fucking bizarre.
There’s no defending the indefensible. They all deserve & should serve jail time irrespective of whether or not they were part of the GAA.
GAA rapidly losing respect as a fair & sporting organisation with the law-abiding people of Ireland.
Honestly, this is a solid reason to leave the club, boycott the matches. Other teams should refuse to play against that club.
