Of course you can camp on your own land. However, if this is within city boundaries, there might be restrictions on certain activities, e.g. fires.
We own a farm, and we can camp anywhere on our land. Fire is quite another thing, though. We live close to a forest and a nature reserve.
The law says that the relevant administration can take measures to prevent forest fires, also on private land that borders on public land.

Forests are particularly problematic because (a) forest fires and (b) **animals cannot distinguish between your tiny campfire and a forest fire. Animals in the forest interpret smoke from a campfire as a forest fire and will panic.** That’s very stressful and during winter, stress can kill animals.
Don’t light a fire in a forest even if it’s your forest. We own a tiny bit of forest and we do not light fires in or close to our forest.
If it’s on your own land, it’s not “wild” camping.
In the summer months, I often put up the tent in the backyard for me and the kids to hang out in. We often make fires (fire box), and sometimes we do sleep overnight in it as well. Never had a problem. One of my old neighbours was a police officer, too.
I’m from Canada and have done loads of camping in my days, but Germany rather sucks for it tbh…
Generally, you could camp on your own land. Germany is crowded and long-cultivated, thus ‘wilderness’ is quite reduced and fragmented. So there may be restrictions on what you can ‘pick’, chop or burn. You certainly can’t go around killing animals.
