How is Albania that far up? Other Balkan countries must be in absolute chaos if we are in the first place in this index.

    5. nobody wants western democracy anymore especially after what happened to iraq and libya

If they don’t follow our agenda, then they are not democratic. We hold the definition of democracy

Ah, democracy in the Western Balkans, a masterclass in how to tread water without actually swimming.

Does anyone know the reason Montenegro’s performance surged between 2019-2021?

      For clarification,

OP used a source and plotted them in a chart and then specifically chose “representation” as the index to show us here.

There is nothing especially wrong with that but using a title such as “Democracy in western balkans” and then showing only “representation” is kind of misleading, and most of the comments seem to be interpreting this as a absolute “democracy score”.
It definitely is one of the biggest indices you want to use when evaluating how “democratic” a country is but things such as individual rights, due process, checks and balances etc. matter as well.

The sub-title mentioning that there are multiple “category level scores” and multiple “indeces”(plural) kind of show that the raw data used more indeces besides “representation”.

so, OP u/big_cat112, please source? 🙂

That’s what happens when liberal politicians, instead of working for the people who voted for them, work for people who elected them – who bought them. Dictators get power.

Democracy is quiet, if you don’t hear constant news from a country about its state of politics, it means it’s stable. There is no need to comment things that function. This would be reflected here pretty well – I have no idea about the politic landscape in Albania and N. Macedonia, but I know what goes on in Bosnia and Serbia like I live there.
