I’m pretty sure that Syria has a better future under this former Al-Qaeda member than Turkey has under this Georgian Sultan erdogan
Russia’s been stoking anti-immigrant tension across Europe for years now.
If 5-6 million Syrians return to their country from Europe and Turkey, it’s going to make a massive difference in terms of the cost, housing crises, and Russia’s ability to stoke tension.
Plus contribute to making Syria a viable state again, which would be good news for everyone except Russia and Iran.

Will be interesting to see how the returning diaspora affects Syria, specifically the rebuilding.
