Temu has an official presence in Switzerland, so I guess it won’t be long until they adapt the system to include the Swiss VAT.

I guess the side-effect to that is that Swiss Post will not be able to bill 20.- or so per parcel to do some automated “VAT evaluation” ?

In another article it was mentioned Temu and Shein(?) have already registered for VAT, AliExpress not yet.

Aliexpress has been charging VAT since the 1st of 2025. You can still order almost anything you like.

    5. You still can order without issues on aliexpress.
On the order there is a hint “VAT included”. When you hover over it it states:
`From 1 Jan, 2025, all marketplaces are required by Swiss law to collect Value-Added Tax (VAT) and remit to the relevant tax authority under certain circumstances. The VAT rate may vary depending on the type of goods purchased. For more details, please visit our Help Center.`

Also there is a new button to download invoices. But no invoices have generated yes. I guess this happens when the good is delivered. There i will see the company name and probably VAT-Number.
