Start charging them 20k per rescue. Watch the ‘idiotic’ people suddenly gain a modicum of intelligence.

    2. Well, asking idiots to take responsibility is the definition of an oxymoron….

Ye, taking responsibility is something a lot of people are bad at

    4. Irish people have terrible driving skills, terrible awareness, and will just let other people deal with the fallout from their actions.

But there’s no point complaining when there’s no way of training drivers. You aren’t going to intuitively know what to do in an emergency situation. The governments solution to bad driving seems to be reduce speed limits. But all that does is create even more incompetent divers.

There were posts here about taking the kids up to see the snow. Every time it snows, this happens.

I’m in a part of Wicklow with less snow but still some. A neighbour was going to the shops and was getting into their Audi Q5, I suggested they take their Corolla instead as it had better tyres and would do better in the snow.

They said nah the Audi has Quattro.

I chatted politely and explained it also had skinny summer sports tyres whereas the Corrola had all seasons so would be safer and do better. He said OK thanks.

5 mins later I see the Audi is gone and Corolla is there.

20 mins later he is back and fucked 2 alloys at the end of the road sliding into the curb and scraping the shit out of both alloys on the left side of the car after sliding on the corner of the hill out of the estate.

Neighbours have a nice expensive repair bill on 2x very expensive alloy wheels now.

Are these the same people who go “Why does this need an orange warning?” only to then go and get in trouble while screeching “It should have been a red!” As if Met eireann is responsible for these people’s stupid decisions.

I’m gonna come of as a right bastard but….

Leave them there. They were warned. Why should someone have to risk themselves to rescue you when there was no reason to go up there other than to get pics for the gram
