I wouldn’t be opposed to having a form of public social media that is forced to respect naturality and free speech at this point, if we can’t enforce private ones to do so

Its a good thing we have a well renowned strong leader like Von Der Leyen who obviously is known for pushing ahead with things and not dismantling them. Also known for basically doing nothing like most astriocrats.

I’m worried most of these articles are just pure clickbait, trying to milk this wild situation and outrage that has rightly spread across Europe. How much have leaders _actually_ said about it, though?
I feel like what Musk has already done is so damaging that it’s insane it’s so widely accepted, and that there are no consequences really even being discussed. But see what happens if you host a copyright-protected movie or something on your site. THAT is apparently unacceptable “speech”, and you’ll be held accountable.

And Zuckerberg announcing Meta will cease their Fact-Checking “just like X/Twitter”?
He clearly announced it at the time of Trump’s fucking insane press conference, knowing Trump’s words would flood the news and drown this out!

It’s time for social media to be properly controlled, or banned.
I never thought I’ll say this, but the majority of society is just too naive and stupid to be left unchecked and social media are just too dangerous these days.
When you think about it – you could find all sorts of crazy shit on the internet when it was starting, before it started to be properly controlled.
It’s similar with social media. We had a good run, but now its being used by billionaires and crazies to spread hate, misinformation and division.
If people think there’s free speech in there now – they are delusional. Musk is well known for blocking people who spoke against him.
It’s simply time to ban these platforms, coz brain rot and stupidity will just keep spreading.
