Oh wow, they are angry now. What’s next? Thoughts and prayers?

      Do something.

Well they’re still going to continue using X and the press is going to keep reporting on it.

Let me know when X is banned in the EU.

What we are witnessing here is the formation of a new power alongside governments that is obviously intervening in world affairs.

This has already happened in the past with the super-rich, but elon musk is one of the first to do it publicly rather than in the shadows.

I am European. Why are you hosting debates where foreign powers can influence our decisions. We need high quality debates on local platforms. It’s clear that EU parliament doesn’t cut it. There are plenty of platforms in Europe that make good content in terms of local politics. We don’t need to be dependent on US platforms.

Is it because he interferes personally rather than buying a news outlet and hiring locals to push his views like other billionaires ?

In the best case scenario, Brussels will as usual condemn that.

I had quite rich friends when I was a kid, and none of them knew the limits. They thought everything was given to them on a silver plate, and that they could do whatever the fuck they wanted. I think that Elon is exactly like that, and he hasn’t grown up since then

Honestly, I’m starting to wonder if EU leaders care as much as the media claims they do… or wait, maybe the media is the EU leadership now? That would explain a lot. Endless headlines, zero solutions – the perfect bureaucratic combo!

I wish there was a way to know where in the world content on social media really originated and who is responsible for it. But there isn’t.

Even if the social networks wanted to there is no way to do it besides creating a licence for every internet user linked to a national identity document. And besides, even if that was implemented, people would just switch to some darknet anonymous social network 2 seconds later.

So we really are all in it together as a world, interfering with each other’s politics and the law on what needs to be moderated and how, and healthy competition is the only way to stay safe. God help us.

Be more accurate. It angers the vast majority of the european people. This mf is getting annoying.

That’s funny, when German political foundations co-fund political events in Poland it is all fine, but god forbids influencing German politics itself.

Btw it is clear sign of Europe’s weakness, just like above is sign of Poland’s weakness.

Ban x and subsidise its European equivalent. Its not that hard

Europeans cannot comment US politics as well or is it a one way road?

    15. Lion8330 on

We need a European 🇪🇺 social network and host crucial debates there

Its funny because every non-European doesn’t get it. This whole thing stinks of them reading the room wrong.

I’m British. I can say I fucking hate France, the French can hate me. We can fight. We can say we’re shit at football.

But i’ll tell you now, if a single American was to set foot in Paris, I’d swim the channel to defend them.

We’re that shit family who all hate each other but love each other. No ones allowed to take the piss out of us but us.
