I thought the whole point was that they *weren’t supposed to come back*? That they’re there just to stop bullets for the Ruzzians. I thought the whole point was a futile death, getting their fucking faces burned off, and the rest eaten by pigs?

Gain what? Experience? These soldiers aren’t returning to the glorious republic after fighting and having their eyes opened to a better world (anything is better than NK). The soldiers are too much of a risk to destabilising NK so if they don’t die on the battlefield, they’ll be liquidated before return to NK.
