Disqualified for 12 months, so if he does manage to live another year ye could actually get back on the road? That’s crazy.

This seems a bit mad. Is that the maximum or something? I can’t imagine he’ll be in better shape at 93. I’m fine with a suspended sentence given the guilty plea and the fact it seems like a fuck-up in a low risk scenario (parking a car and hitting the wrong pedal) but there has to be some mechanism to stop someone driving when they’ve become a risk to.others.

That’s a really horrible thing to have happened.
I hope the family’s calls for legislative reform are taken seriously on both sides of the border. Nobody should be driving a vehicle while in an unfit condition, whether that condition stems from age or otherwise.
