Tbf to the poor fucker trying to mark the lines there, the posts are clearly not directly opposite each other.

There’s probably an element of uneven ground there, too, distorting things.

I’d shudder to think how the lines would look on our second pitch, which has some interesting geography…

It’s an absolute pain marking out pitches.. we hire a robot to mark it out at the start of the season, then go over the lines manually for the rest of the season. Takes the hassle out of it.

As another poster said here, the goals are set up in the wrong spot on the bottom half of this pitch, so the guys lining the pitch are fucked from the get go.

I think someone accidentally clicked “paste with formatting” in word and said they wanted a *GAA Pitch*.

“My aim was constantly off to the left and I couldn’t figure out why – then I’ve looked at my practice pitch in Google Maps…”

Corner of the pitch just chopped off

Ah here, lads, my family marks this pitch! No need to call us out with satellite images. If you’d witnessed the marking-day arguments, you’d surely agree we deserve to wallow in our shame without the world watching 😂

From what I remember, the pitch is over an old quarry / land fill. You’d think that would mean good drainage but it’s really heavy ground. The southern half of the pitch stays horribly wet so the goals were getting destroyed. We got the goals and the mouths of the goals done in astro. The astro was done in a odd shape, you’d think it would be the same size as the small rectangle but no, it extends past it and it isn’t as wide. That’s a different kettle of fish though! But as you can see they fucked the placement of the goals. Think this was done by the council, for little or nothing, so we didn’t really have a leg to stand on and had to make do!

Straight lines is it now? Was it for straight lines that Sam Maguire fought and died? Twas good enough for your grandfathers. Twill be good enough for ye!

    9. St Jude’s used to have some amazingly shit pitches like this. One was as lob sided as this but up a hill and another was wider at the top than at the bottom, used to hate playing them away. I’ve no idea if they’re still like that but they were awful

This is why it was called the small parallelogram, not the small rectangle. Foresight.

Pitch must be on one of the round bits of our Earth! This is an example for all those flat earth era that it is IN FACT round! That’s a perfect rectangle on a curve
