      I pay less in Copenhagen for a 2 year old apartment and earn almost 50% more than the income limit Clúid have set.

      Capped income 66k, no HAP, but still 1715 a month? How the fuck is this cost rental.

      I’m so fucking fed up with the state of our housing and even more fed up with the government that has caused this.

      I’m happy that *something* is being done to help alleviate the housing problem. But there’s still something profoundly broken when the Government and/or local bodies have to subsidise housing in order that professional couples can afford a home.

      A salary of 40k leave you with 900 euro to pay all bills, food, creche, car, and save for a mortgage.

      I know people are giving out that this is ‘just’ 1715 per month. But that’s 500 less than I’m paying now and 700 less than I was paying last year. I’d take it

      It’s a farce, people that would need this most are those who earn too much to even be considered for HAPS, and yet not enough to meet the net €66K criteria for cost- rental schemes.
      The ones who meet €66K net are probably more able to comfortably afford rent on the current market (studio/ 1 bed) Obviously a generous rent is a bonus for anyone renting and the fact that this scheme allows you to have it for as long as you need it, no fear of being terminated – but when people are living pay check to pay check, the reality is that €66k net is more than just an average salary and would leave a huge number of people out of the scheme altogether and at the mercy of the current market.
