You can only wish. This was always going to be a winner for whatever independents propped them up. They’ll do right by their constituents, get a road built or whatever is crying out to be done there, and whatever other shite the government get up to it will be seen as separate to these two shite hawks.

It’s only a death sentence when it’s a national party that gets into bed with FFG, since they’ll inevitably betray their grassroots supporters and their manifesto, and they can’t sort out every constituency with a new ring road etc.

The Healy-Raes only have to pull a few strokes for Kerry, and they’re quids in. FFG can go ahead and shite the bed all they want, the lads will smell like roses in Kerry – more than likely.
