That’s clearly just hyperbole, and the motorway Ia making it’s way through the route selection process and site investigations.

So kind of a pointless comment by the minister.

I’m commenting before someone says “they should build a railway instead.”

“At the moment, they’re linked by a glorified cattle track, it’s not safe, it has numerous accidents and incidents on it every year,” said Minister O’Donovan.”

[The same road that Kyle Hayes overtook 9 cars at 155km/h](https://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/limerick-hurler-kyle-hayes-convicted-of-dangerous-driving-after-overtaking-nine-cars-at-155km-h-1670442.html) 🙄 Even the speed limit of motorways is below that, hope the judge remembers this at his appeal in March.

A better solution would be a motorway from Limerick to Waterford, intersecting the N8.

Yes, a longer route, but would give direct transport from Rosslare to the Atlantic ports of both Limerick and Galway, and it facilitate access from Cork to both Limerick and Rosslare.

Had the misfortune of taking that road once. It’s embarrassing it’s the road from Ireland’s 2nd and 3rd citys

      2 hours drive for 60 miles – 100 Kilometers – average speed 50 Kph

    7. I mean he’s not wrong. There are times you’ll have to stop and wait for cattle to cross the road.

His party cancelled the project before restarting it after the planning permission had elapsed so it had to go back to the very start of the process. Nice of him to say it should be built now.

99 billion in tax in 2024.

And still this bolloxing over a road

I drive that road at least once a week and it’s horrific it should be the last big road the state delivers before we all go training

Be great if he could say something about the N24 and N25.

Just waiting for “why don’t they cycle? Me and my friend Tristan cycle between Blackrock and Dalkey every day, bloody culchie savages!” #VoteGreen

Good to hear this. The country is beginning to heal from the insanity of the Green Party exercising completely disproportionate control over its infrastructure.

    14. Yeah, it’s a pity that his party wasn’t in power for the last *checks notes* 13 years, there really was nothing they could have done about it.
