I think the 192% increase figure next to the eastern border sufficiently explains why border guards have resorted to pushbacks on many occasions.
It’s an organised attempt by Russian and Belarusian security services to penetrate the border, there’s no discussion around it.
It’s a sad situation overall but if we want to decrease the number of tragedies on the Mediterranean we have to have a 0 tolerance policy on illegal crossings
If the goal is really to help people and not have an endless supply of desperate barely educated workers, the it’s always possible to help the depart countries directly
We need to do something about Russia and Belarus hybrid attacks on the eastern borders. Using immigrants as a way to overwhelm our border patrols is absolutely vile.
Wait, you mean people are not fleeing their country for the fun of it, but because living there is barely possible, so if we help them improve their living conditions they will stop coming here illegaly?
