I don’t get it. They make it sound like it is super easy to get the citizenship. Btw who defines “a threat”? Are journalists trying to uncover the tragedy of MS Estonia a threat?

Might have been a better idea not to put the citizenship in cornflakes packages and hand them out irregardless of criminal activity, financial situation or politicial affiliations from the get-go, but of course we were all racists and nazists for 30 years for pointing it out.

I’ll believe it when I see it. I doubt they’ll pull it from anyone until after they’re convicted of at least multiple felonies, and even then probably not.
We’re not discussing residency here, but citizenship. Who is to decide who qualifies as a threat? That’s such a dangerous precedent…
I don’t care if you made it too easy to obtain the citizenship and now regret that, this shouldn’t be allowed. Like it or not, these people are Swedes now, you cannot just toss people out
The only questionable part is what do they mean by threat to state.
If the ‘threat to state’ isn’t a dual national, how would this work? You can’t make someone stateless, it’s against international law. (Unless Sweden intends to break international law in that way?)

I’ll be ok with this as long as there’s due process with at least as much burden of proof required as a criminal trial, but if they’re going to strip citizenship away from people on the vague basis that they’ve been evaluated as a threat then that will be bad.

I bet this is just a proposition. Nothing more.
They saw what is happening in the US with Nazi’s like Musk, Murdoch, etc and have devised a solution so they don’t meet the same fate.
