Warmest year in record coming up once again.
Start of January was abnormally cold. I would venture a guess that on average this month has been pretty average. But I do agree, it feels like March with the birds singing.

The average temperature in Helsinki in January 2023 was -0.8. It’s been lower than that this year. Not as cold as last year though, but last year was a record cold January.
It didn’t even snow in 2020 in helsinki, definitely not the warmest by a long shot
Same here in Oulu. Started very cold, down to – 20°C. Now its 0-3°C and very windy
Still not as horrible as winter some years ago, when permasnow came in mid(?) January in Oulu.

Finland might be one of few country to actually profit from global warming. Population can grow and progress if it wasn’t bone chilling cold. May help in farming too.
