They’re staying in a luxury hotel on the sea, it was never supposed to be long term. The parents have known this was coming since the day they were provided emergency accommodation.
War is inhumane, not changing schools 🤦♂️

I despise these people who try to pass themselves off as bleeding heart humanitarians, when it’s so transparent what their real concerns are when Ukrainians are being moved on (to other state provided & funded accommodation) in order to make way for asylum seekers.

A cynical person would point out that the loss of 50 students will probably mean cuts in teachers and other resources the school could claim. Perhaps that is also a concern of the principal.
Pets are mentioned in the article. What the fuck out those receiving temporary protection getting pets for. “Temporary”- have people forgotten the implicit meaning of this term.
I suspect that without a shred of irony in a couple of years time the same people will be protesting the high house prices and overstretched services in the community caused by their being too much demand.
Now I will say this, there is absolutely no sense in moving on these 50 students along with their families to replace them with 50+ other families who were also seeking international protection/asylum et cetera.
The state clearly does not want people to get rooted, which I have to say I agree with. But there has been seemingly piss poor management of the situation from the start.
If any of them are aligned with the zionists that displaced/transferred them to make way for Zelensky’s “Big Israel” they won’t be going anywhere ever.
We would be better off if we only accepted the Banderite Ukrainians as mad as that sounds as we have no protections against zionists planted settlers.
It’s a f***** up situation on all fronts, but this move was never meant to be permanent and they were meant to leave eventually.
Now parachuting in (50 + others presumably not from the Ukraine) to replace them is madness.
People move all the time. Children change schools. It happens.
If and when the war ends what happens to the refugees? It’s a genuine question. Are they sent back home or are they allowed to stay here?
At first I thought “Oh, the contract must be ending and the hotel returning to other usage.” No, they’re scattering these people to the wind and replacing them with other refugees.
This can’t be good for anyone – the Ukrainians, the local community, the new people to be dropped in.
Government has totally ballsed up its approach to this issue from day one with its open ended promises and such, but I don’t think a bunch of schoolkids and a small local community should get screwed in the shuffle now as officials try and sort out their earlier mess.
