Qualcuno potrebbe aiutarmi a capire?

It’s a secret? I thought it was well known Die Linke likes Russia.
Yes. The left in Germany in particular is seriously struggling to update their world view. USA and NATO were their boogeyman for so many years, and Russia the socialist paradise for so long, that even the smarter amongst them simply cannot fully reconcile Putins Russia with their core beliefs and principles.
>Are they just naive, or do they secretly support Russia? Could someone help me understand?
How about you inform yourself what this party’s opinion on the issue actually is.
You can start here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhrZwHbWxpE
We are currently trying to discuss this stance in the party, I am not happy with it at all either
Die Linke’s official policy is that Russia must withdraw its troops from Ukraine, so that the war can end. However, their official policy is also that Germany must stop giving/selling arms to Ukraine. They are very unclear on how they intend to force Russia to end the war if Russia sees that it can simply steamroll Ukraine.
It’s badly designed policy, intended to appease their various wings from tankies to liberals, and results in complete nonsense.
The left considers that the USA led Russia to attack Ukraine for 1. degrading the relationship between European countries and Russia and 2. to invest in the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war.
EDIT: It’s actually not only a leftist view, as it’s also the unofficial viewpoint of French diplomacy. After the war, I think they will try to deal with Russia even more than before, because of Trump notably
They wrote it in general, they like a fantasy world where there is no wars, it is a nice idea but practically not possible,
The Left has split up in 2 parties (LINKE and BSW).
Hopefully none of them reaches 5% and will stay out of parliament.
Dann ist Deutschland besonders feige und heuchlerisch.
It’s deep rooted russia nostalgia
Yep, the German Left Party is pro Russia. BSW – which isn’t just pro Russia but hardcore pro Putin – already stole quite a few members from them. Now that they are taking a pro Russia stance again they alienated even more people of their voter base and are predicted to fall below the threshold next elections.
It makes me mad 🤬
The basic idea is that its only the working class dying both sides, those who won’t profit from either outcome of the war/any war. If you really want to help Ukraine winning the militarily, you would have to send troops… since no one does that… are they all secretly on russias side?
Die Linke reminds me a lot of TİP in Turkey. Now, I actually like TİP (Turkish Worker’s Party), but their main blind spot is on NATO and Russia. The fact that far-left parties like Die Linke CONSISTENTLY miss the forest for the trees on this issue is unsurprising but still upsetting.
This seems to be somewhat of a common ground for leftist parties in Europe. They don’t seem to understand that you Can be anti-war, but that only works if your opponent has the same view; as in the case of Russia, their government doesnt have the same view, and bending over backwards for authoritarian states like that will only cost you more, more and ever more.
The main issue for die Linke is, that supporting Ukraine against Russia means being on the same side as the US, and the majority is conditioned to find that inacceptable, no matter which atrocities the other side commits.
As if you can just choose to have Russia stop attacking you. What an incredibly naive world view these people have.
I think it’s purposely ambiguous poster so it can be interpreted according to one’s individual view.
Basically as the things stand for Russia the war costs lives and for Ukraine peace costs lives and bravery.
