“Sono consapevole che questo è un sogno: che invece di una Brexit, avremo un Breturn. Forse mi sto illudendo. Ma preferisco essere ottimista e custodire questi sogni nel mio cuore. A volte si avverano in politica.” – Donald Tusk.

I had a dream too Tusk..it was a Europe that would support the icc to try alleged war criminals, so that there are consequences for killing innocent civilians. Instead, you went out of your way to invite (and guarantee the freedom to leave) of the person you are supposed to detain for trial.

      So fuck your breturn dream.

NO!! We don’t want the arrogant English back to the EU! The EU works better without them.

The EU must unite into European Federation but without the English.

    3. A big obstacle is losing the pound which I think would be required if they come back. Besides many countries thrive next to but outside the EU.

Very welcome to return provided they accept all the rules for new countries joining. No special dispensations anymore. They lost those privileges when they fucked off.

Cringe.  Especially given the other things he’s said about the UK and its people.

When people like Tusk and Verhofstadt say things like this I get the same feeling I get when a slimey salesman is being too friendly. It’s disingenuous and manipulative.

Doesn’t need to be a dream, 10 years ago brexit won by a razor thin margin, on promises that have now been proven false, in fact it had the exact opposite of the effect the proponents wanted.

I believe if the same vote was held today the results would be far different.

The most irritating thing about the English is that even after they screwed themselves over with Brexit, they’re still so arrogant that they think it’s entirely up to them whether they can return to the EU. It doesn’t even occur to them to consider whether Europeans want them back.

t’s as if the EU were some pub where they complain about how everything’s rubbish, vote to leave, storm out swearing, and then think they can just walk back in anytime they want, as if it’s entirely their decision.

They really think Europeans regret them leaving.

Ok, since I know next to nothing about this, I’d like to ask a question. What exactly is stopping the UK from rejoining the EU and is anything actually?

The EU will be stronger with UK on our side. If the people of Great Britain are willing to join us they will be welcomed as friends. As other commenters pointed out Brexit went through by a tight margin and I personally know brits who are longing for a second referendum.

All of the other new members already drove on the right, correct? Having standardized on that in the 1950s and 60s. So that could be built up into another problem for Breturn.

Yes, UK should return to EU. Unfortunately labour is labour and they don’t want that.
