Is there a chance that your mortgage could be sold off to a debtor who charges extortionate rates like this?

Jesus christ, that crowd Pepper are a shower of fucks for this sort of stuff. The must have brainstorming sessions with staff “how do we fuck over our clients more and more”…. “Double interest rates? “

In fairness to the banks as it is impossible to get house back from people in Ireland, this is the only option they have if people aren’t paying their mortgage over a long period
In saying that. Doubling the interest rates is not right and makes things harder on the people with the mortgage.
If they were sold off as non-performing in the first place, then raising the interest rate payments just add fuel to the fire

I’d be upset too if I was on say a 4% mortgage only to find out my bank sold the loan to some vulture fund who then doubled my interest rate.
This reminds me of a case that came up before a judge maybe last year where Pepper wouldn’t confirm how much had been paid for a loan and how much they had recouped from the borrowers to date. The judge was outraged as it was obvious Pepper were bleeding the borrowers dry.
