Habsburg-Lothringen*. The house of Habsburg died out with Maria Theresia

I had to go and look up who or what this organisation was. It celebrated a centenary in 2023 but has only had three leaders.

They sort of had that chance from 1914-1918. They weren’t up to the challenge.

His great-grandpa and grandpa waged World War One against Russia. Mr. Habsburg is unlikely to be looking at things from a confused post-modern perspective. Russia is an evil Empire, ergo is a foe and has to go. On the other hand, exactly this kind of thinking crippled the West into a spiral of decline 111 years ago…

This man is NOT the president of the Paneuropean Union.
The president of the Paneuropean Union is Alain Terrenoire.

I mean that’s ruzzia’s policy towards the EU. It’s only fair that this is EU’s policy against ruzzia.

*In a new speech, Karl von Habsburg, a prominent advocate for European integration, is advocating for a more assertive EU policy when it comes to the Russian question.*

*From his viewpoint, holding the line is not enough. Europe must bring the fight to Russia. The over-centralization of power in Moscow stifles the development of Russia’s diverse regions and undermines the rights of its people to come closer to Europe. Breaking up Russia could lead to positive governance and improved human rights. And a small muscovite state surrounded by EU-friendly republics wouldn’t have the resources and gravitas to threaten Europe.*

*Breaking up Russia, in this context, would mean the establishment of a new, more equitable balance of power on Europe’s eastern borders.*

The EU’s new Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas has also expressed support for the idea of a breakup of Russia. The concept is known as [Prometheism](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prometheism). It was never fully embraced, and definitely not as a whole-of-Europe approach. The idea is to bypass the Kremlin and build new partnerships. That would be coupled with real sanctions (much stronger than the ones we have now) that will make it very difficult for Moscow to keep the regions together.

The EU organized a big conference with delegations from across Russia recently.

i love how the EU is considering a gloves off approach

Oh, well, one would have to be foolish not to make plans for every scenario. Russia’s dismantling may be one of them. Chechnya, Dagestan, Tatarstan could be used against Kremlin, just as they use internal meddling in EU countries against the EU. While I don’t think this is the best solution – quite the contrary – I can understand its rationale.

We need to figure this out but how about royal oligarch nepobabies fuck off with their opinions? We listened to them long enough and they’ve lived off our backs for too long. Also that org is one of the shadiest things I’ve seen.

      Useless parasites

Very interesting that they’re placing the German flag over the “former” Kaliningrad Oblast. I sure hope this demented old fool and himself a relic of a past colonial empire understands that any former German claims to Eastern Prussia is long gone just as the German population that used to live there.
Or is that a coincidence and actually refers to the Russian people that live there now?

    12. His name is Karl Habsburg-Lothringen. There is no “von” for Austrian citizens.

    13. OnceWasRampant on

I think he may eventually get his wish if things continue to unfold as they currently do. But he’ll need to tell his Osterreicher right-winger nutjob buddies to stop sucking the cheesy cock of oligarchic oil-swilling Putinism.

Can’t wait to see him in the front lines of Ukraine.

Habsburg is trying to beat Russia finally 🤣 Generally I agree!

These buffoons still think we are in Versailles and that they actually count something cos of a surname

    20. Never heard of that organisation. Crazy those old aristocrats are still in the game, even if it’s some minor position without actual meaning.

    21. Nazamroth on

I must say, “Habsburgs calling for the breakup of Russia” was not on my 2025 bingo card…

    22. Any-Original-6113 on

The Russians have already shown this video on all their social networks, followed by a comment. : “Do you really think that the Europeans don’t want to destroy Russia?”

    23. Mannalug on

Karl von Habsburg? Should he call for renewal of Holy Roman Empire? It would be sick concept to see HRE in EU borders.

    24. grand_historian on

The vast majority of the people in the Russian Federation are ethnic Russians. This is even true for many of the ethnic republics.

Y’all are 100% delulu if you believe in this shit.

    25. CrazyBelg on

We’re actually living in a world where instead of focussing on attainable goals to get us out of a looming economic and political crisis we instead just jerk off about our dreams of destroying Russia….

    26. MartiusDecimus on

I’m not really a fan of the “sins of the fathers pass on to their sons” mentality but criticism of a multiethnic empire coming from a Habsburg is peak irony right there.
