Great speech but let me outline one thing. 8:10 he says countries should think about spending 5% of their GDP to cover defends. Germanys GDP is about 4 trillion euros (2024). 5% from 4 trillion = 200 billion euros. The householdbudget from Germany is 400 billion euros (2024). So 5% of the GDP= Half of the spending from Germany in 2024.
He is so right on so many issue. We need to rebalance our strategic partnership with America, not by whinning but though strengh, innovation and economic opportunities.
It’s also tactically clever to come and talk big picture and not about his own problems.
Zelensky: a comedian became a statesman, a true leader. It is in his interest to speak like this but damn EU, he is so fucking right. Gear up, help defeat Russia so that that threat is far less for the coming years and then gear up again against China and sadly even more the USA. Talking about stuff only works in the EU, not with these fascist states and companies, actions are needed otherwise democracy and rule of law die.
God…Sometimes I forget how much substance speeches are suppose to have.
Not once did he just go off script rambling about how big his ratings are or how much Obama sucks or something.
