Do people really need to ask if messages like these are a scam?

Yes, it is a scam posti would send you a letter to your home or electronically to either posti app or suomi.fi app to clear any items in customs.

1. Have you ordered a package? If not, then obviously it’s a scam.
2. There is no such thing as “Suomen Posti”. It’s just Posti.
3. Posti doesn’t use “shorturl.ad” URLs.
4. Why would Posti want to specify you need to open a random link in Google Chrome? And what’s up with the weird SMS instructions? Well a scam, that’s what’s up.

I doubt any company would use short/tinyurl, etc. for links.
That alone is something to stay away from.

Why would Posti use a web address from Austria? Of course that’s a scam!

Can we post a sticky already telling people if they need to ask if an SMS or e-mail is a scam it’s always a scam?

If Posti sends you a SMS message, they wouldn’t be so vague about package. They would know what package they’re talking about and they would tell you. There are other red flags too:
1. It’s just Posti, there’s no Suomen Posti.
2. Posti won’t send you links via SMS and they definitely wouldn’t be shortened URLs nor would they be any other than official Posti URLs
3. Posti would send SMS from no reply number. You couldn’t even reply to message. And they wouldn’t ask you to reply and click some random activation links
4. Even if they miss some address details (which is kinda impossible since Posti pretty much always have some address to send mails even if the address details are incorrect), they probably wouldn’t bother to contact you in the first place. They would just send the package back.

Nope. Regardless of any services, always go to official web site by your own and see if you really have messages or notifications.

Scam. Also this doesn’t show phone numbers areal code but I quess it is not finnish one (+358). Many other have gotten these too and areal code has always been from some random country.

Good rule of thumb is that if you didn’t order anything it’s mostly likely scam.
