That train left in 2014 from Crimean peninsula and never have been seen again.
Now we need 5% just to stay relevant and recover from politics of such stars like **Merkel** or that corrupted motherfucker **Jean-Claude Juncker**
Most of us are in NATO, all should be spending 2% already..
How comes that the EU is not already spending that much when most of their members are also NATO and aim for 2%?
I know thst Poland is spending around 5% and even France and Germany are doing their part now.
2%is not necessary…1% should be enough…just spend it on the nukes…no need for other weapons…all dictators, e.g Putin, Kim, Trump, etc only respect nukes, nothing else
4% should be a minimum.
“She highlighted that Russia can, in three months, produce more weapons and ammunition than the 27-country bloc collectively can in 12 months. ”
There’s few points to consider here:
1. About 80% of Russian weapons manufacturing is refurbishing old stores. And those stores are starting to run out.
2. They are producing a lot of ammunition because they need it. Their doctrine calls for massive use of artillery. NATO doctrine does not.
3. And, of course, anything Russia produces gets spent immediately. What EU produces goes in to strengthening EU militaries.
It’s not without merit that the countries which mounted down their defense capabilities in the late 90s and early 00s (my own country included) need to at least for a set amount of time keep to 3% or even higher just to build up those capabilities again. It will hurt but at the same time I can understand why for example Italy or Spain are hesitant to follow suit and I think we have to let them do that in their own pace without following in Americas footsteps of seeing everyone that doesn’t follow that recommendation as a loser and a moocher.
5% GDP for nato members
