      Mostly for its physical banality of expression, for a monument for servicemen of the railway murdered by the occupants.

      Another issue is that people passing by cannot see the top view the photo gives and assume its a hammer and an anvil or even (in tourists minds) mjølnir, Tors hammer.

      The monument, created by artist Bjørn Melbye Gulliksen, is a symbol of resistance against Nazism and commemorates the efforts of the Osvald Group during World War II. The Osvald Group was a Norwegian resistance group that fought against the Nazi occupation of Norway.

      The thing is that Norway and Sweden played to much in the game of neutrality before WW2, which basicaly meant “Sweden sells iron ore to German military and Norway transports this ore through Narvic port”.
