No. I got a text last night stating the power would be restored on the 2nd Feb. The power was back an hour before I received the text. The power check is still saying I have no power.
Sadly probably unless they get ahead of themselves. Timings meant to be more accurate as they only give them after the assess the issue.
If anything it could increase if there’s more outages in the coming days that affect more customers which may put them ahead of you for resolution
We’re in a similar boat. I think we’ll be evacuating the building today for my parents.
The website told us it would be 19:30 last night. I signed up for the SMS. Power came back at around 16:00 instead, and still yet to receive any SMS so probably not massively reliable.
No, it’ll be fixed sooner unless you live in the middle of nowhere. Don’t bother checking the outage site, you’re just going to stress yourself out

Fixing the website is probably the last thing on their minds while they try to restore with a smaller storm about to hit which is bound to knock down more trees which got damaged in the initial storm
Go to Halfords or Screwfix. Get a power inverter for the car. You connect it to your battery, idle the car, and get around 400w of power at 240v in the house via an extension lead.
Was doing a course half of which was statistics. One nugget from the tutor stuck in my head. A forecast is just that, a forecast it will not be 100% accurate. And the more numbers in the forecast after the decimal point, the more accurate people think the forecast will be.

No, it’s just the standard engineer thing of under-promising and over-delivering, made famous by Scotty from Star Trek. Tell them you need two days to start on the problem and have it fixed in one. I got a text yesterday saying it would be 9pm tonight before I had power. It was fixed three hours later.

No. I checked and it said it will be back tonight but then came back 1 hour later
I think the time is the end of shift, so they plan on getting it done that day and update the estimates at end of shift. I’ve seen it jump 24 hours at the end of the day.
That estimate is essentially a blanket estime for everything to be restored not your individual fault. Too many faults for individual time lines so it’s basically we’ll get to you some time between now and then, as crews work through everything.
Probably not, yesterday it said I was getting power back on 4/2. This morning it said power was going to be back on the 29th. The ESB lads got it back about 1 hour ago.
No they don’t try provide accurate times anymore. No idea why they don’t just say that instead of making up random dates.
