In WWII it was somewhat understandable, given what the Germans had done in Poland, Ukraine, Russia. Considering that Ukraine is supposedly a ‘brotherly people’, who objectively gave no Russian soldier any offense other than defending themselves against invasion, there is zero rationale for this – the fact that the Russian Orthodox Church continues to unconditionally bless & absolve them, whatever brutality there is, in the people themselves at the ground level, has no ready explanation, other than their culture must have brutalized them. I’d like to hear someone with expertise offer a sociological/historical account that makes sense, isn’t a rationalization.

This part stands out to me:

      (CW: VICTIM BLAMING)

A Russian interpreter hired by the BBC in 2003 was outraged when she came across a German woman’s description of her rape by Red Army soldiers “If it’s true, then she must have wanted it‟, she commented angrily.

This stands out because it has been observed, repeatedly, by many feminists, that patriarchy would not exist without traitor women holding it up.
